The Oscar SHOULD Go To…

One of the hottest topics of the Backblaze office is what movies are out, and whether we should go see them. Well, it’s almost time for the Oscars and we’re excited to see who is going to win in each of the categories.

In our hearts though, we believe there should be one more Oscar category:
Best Data Loss Scenes.

Below are our favorite contenders of all time:

This great clip from “Star Trek DS9” highlights the importance of backups!

In the movie “Fireproof,” they aren’t too kind to their PCs.

Superman takes on the dastardly computer in “Superman 3.” It doesn’t end well for the computer.

In “Zoolander,” the files are almost brought OUT of the computer.

Vale takes on the computer in “Scanners.” Looks like he’s winning!

One of the saddest computer death scenes of all time. Hal dies in “2001: A Space Odyssey.”

The only way to win is to have multiple backups! According to “Wargames,” it’s best not to play the data loss game.

And of course, restoring your data should be easier than this:

Ethan Hunt tries to get data back in “Mission Impossible.”

Which was your favorite? Vote in the comments, and if we missed a good one, let us know below!
